Harmonium Classes
Harmonium classes are either 1, 1.5 or 2 hours in length. If you are new to playing the harmonium, you must take at least one private class before joining an existing group class. Group classes are on-going. Check the schedule in the side bar or contact me with your availability.
In your initial one-on-one class, you will learn about the harmonium, how to care for it and the basic techniques of playing it.
In the group classes, the focus is on refining the techniques of playing the harmonium through learning kirtans, or sacred Sanskrit chants. Each individual is encouraged to correct limiting habits. Each class focuses on different aspects of playing the harmonium: learning different playing speeds, playing in different keys, mastering the art of accompaniment, learning advanced techniques, and much more.
